CURIOSITY
A Donor Recognition wall for the Reno Discovery Museum

CONCEIVED AND DESIGNED IN COLLABORATION WITH DAVID DELGADO

When asked to create a donor recognition wall for a new children's museum in Reno Nevada, we were hesitant. Usually donor walls are boring. But we were given permission to play.

We thought that magnifying glasses, symbols of curiosity and investigation, would be a perfect material to use for a “discovery” museum. Curiosity is 7 feet tall, 12 feet wide and consists of ~30 variously sized fresnel lenses (flat plastic lenses) mounted between two sheets of etched glass. The larger the donation, the larger the lens. This has become a centerpiece in the main entrance thoroughfare and sets the tone for the museum as a place of curiosity, exploration, and fun.
